How To Become A Locksmith in Boca Raton

A locksmith is someone who designs and fits together locks and keys. The earliest practice of security engineering was locksmithing, and the earliest practice of security infiltration was lock picking. Locksmiths can re-key existing locks, which includes pin tumblers in a n existing lock and replacing it with different numbers. To become a locksmith, enroll in a training program. For example, The Associated Locksmiths of America offers over 100 classes to assist those who want to become locksmiths and achieve certification. The Associated Locksmiths of America offer scholarships for applicants who meet qualifications. A few of the locksmith classes cover identifying many things such as duplicate keys, safety codes, shop operations, pin and disc cylinders. Work as an apprentice under a professional locksmith to gain experience. Many locksmiths have gotten their start from working as apprentices.

If you go this route, make sure your professional is certified. Take the locksmithing certification test. You can attend pre-test courses to help you prepare for the test and even find online locksmith certification testing. Apply for jobs with security companies as a service technician, building maintenance personnel, or a locksmith can set up their own shop. Locksmiths work for companies such as casinos all over the world, not just the ones that are located in Las Vegas. Casinos have been built everywhere-American Indian Reservations, the Colorado Rocky Mountains, as well as he Louisiana Bayou. Just like most crafts, becoming a locksmith takes dedication and studying. Since it is a trade, the classes go pretty quick depending on how deep you are really trying to know this craft. Many locksmiths started out working for others to gain the experience and then branched out and began their own businesses.Study hard, work hard, and becoming a Locksmith Boca Raton is right around the corner.

Obama Announces Recruitment Drive For 10,000 Teachers

Tejinder Singh – AHN News Correspondent

Washington, D.C., United States (AHN) – US President Barack Obama on Monday announced that the country would recruit 10,000 school teachers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in the next two years as part of his effort to give a thrust to science and math education.

Obama reiterated his “goal of moving our nation from the middle to the top of the pack in math and science education,” adding in his statement, “Strengthening STEM education is vital to preparing our students to compete in the 21st century economy and we need to recruit and train math and science teachers to support our nation”s students.”

The White House cited that American students lag in maths and science when compared to peers around the world and Obama has identified three overarching priorities for STEM education, necessary for laying a new foundation for America’s future prosperity.

The priorities include increasing STEM literacy so all students can think critically in science, math, engineering and technology; and improving the quality of math and science teaching so American students are no longer outperformed by those in other nations.

The efforts would also focus on expanding STEM education and career opportunities for underrepresented groups, including women and minorities, the White House added.

“This announcement will move the country forward on the Obama Administration’s ambitious goal of preparing 100,000 STEM teachers over the next decade,” the White House communique noted.

Scholarships for Artists

It used to be that parent’s discouraged their kids from becoming artists. Now, the world of art is broad and can be very lucrative. And if you need another reason to convince your parents you want to go to art school, there are many schools offering scholarships and funding.

Art scholarships run the gamut from drawing to painting to photography to design and even include art of the culinary, musical and literary variety. Many art scholarships are specific to a particular state, county, or even a college in addition to the art major or art interest/ability requirement.

To get you started, here are some resources:

• Your University: Most Art Departments offer scholarships to students attending their schools, either directly through the school or through business, benefactors and foundations that support the school. Many schools also offer them to prospective students.

If you’re attending or planning to attend a university, contact your Program Advisor to ask what scholarships may be available through the school or department (if you’re already attending, definitely check in with your Art Instructors, too!). Don’t forget to look for scholarship opportunities on the university department’s web site or on a bulletin board near the Art Department office on-campus, where they also are often posted. Here are some typical departmental scholarship listings:

Baum School of Art
Birmingham Southern College
Cranbrook Academy of Art
Goshen College
Hendrix College
St. Lawrence University

Most universities do offer scholarships to students attending their schools. That’s because they really, really want to keep you there. These kinds of scholarships are the easiest to find out about, but somehow overlooked by many students who could benefit greatly from the funding…and from the prestige of winning!

Just to reinforce this idea of funding from your university or college, the Department of Education reports that at public universities, scholarship and fellowship expenditures have risen consistently from 1980 through 1995.

This may be an indication that there are opportunities waiting for you. Again, at the very least, you should ask your Advisor about other sources if there are none available at your university for your circumstance.

• L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of The Future Contest. Established in 1988, the L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of The Future Contest is an ongoing merit competition for new and amateur artists. Run on a quarterly basis, an eligible entry is comprised of three science fiction/fantasy illustrations done in a black & white medium rendered from the artist’s imagination. Should the artist win with this entry, he is then sent a story from the companion L. Ron Hubbard Writers of The Future Contest for which to render an illustration. This illustration then becomes his or her entry in the yearly Grand Prize competition. More

• Liberty Graphics Art Scholarship – Liberty Graphics is a Maine company, designing and printing t-shirts with concern for the environment. We are committed to the local economy and wish to encourage local talent. Liberty Graphics conducts a yearly juried art contest, and presents the winner with a $1000 award. The contest is open only to high school seniors who are a resident of Maine. Each year the contest theme may change. This year the contest title is “Art and Our Natural Environment”. Entries should reflect an appreciation of our natural environment. More

• NFAA Arts Recognition and Talent Search ARTS (Arts Recognition and Talent Search®) is NFAA’s core program. ARTS identifies high school seniors and other 17 and 18 year old artists in the disciplines of Dance, Film and Video, Jazz, Music, Photography, Theater, Visual Arts, Voice and Writing for scholarships and financial support. Through ARTS, NFAA annually awards up to $900,000 in cash awards (with individual awards ranging from $10,000 – $100)and makes available $3 million in scholarship opportunities to America’s most outstanding high school senior-age artists through its Scholarship List Service (SLS). More

• The Scholastic Art Awards -The Scholastic Art Awards honor students currently enrolled in grades 7-12, recognizing about 50,000 regional winners. Nationally, 800 young artists’ individual works receive Gold and Silver awards in each of 14 art categories. Art Categories are: animation, ceramics & glass, computer art, design, digital imagery, drawing, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and video & film. Graduating high school seniors seeking scholarships must submit a body of eight works of art or photography for Portfolio Awards to their regional office of The Awards. More

• The WorldStudio Foundation Scholarship – Applicants must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in the fine or commercial arts, design or architecture – one or more of the design/arts disciplines below – and plan to enter a career in the creative professions. Applicants must be matriculated (or planning to matriculate) at accredited colleges and universities in the United States for the fall of the coming academic year and intend on maintaining full-time status for the entire year. International students studying at accredited colleges and universities in the United States may apply. More

• Charitable Foundations – The competition to receive funding from charitable foundations is pretty stiff, even from the local ones. That’s because they do a very good job of soliciting applicants, and the awards are often larger than the smaller groups. Nevertheless, there are hundreds of these organizations giving away millions of dollars every year. If you know of any locally, you should inquire. Or, you can take a glance at these, too:

• National Foundations -Andy Warhol Foundation, Donna Reed Foundation for the Performing Arts, Jackie Robinson Foundation
You can see that there’s a lot of work involved just to find these opportunities…but that’s nothing compared to the work you’ll need to put in to win them.

Bottom line: There’s plenty of scholarship money available in the arts. You just need to show that you’re worth the investment. And, if you are dedicated to pursuing a career in the arts, you may even enjoy the work it takes to stand out from the crowd anyway.

How to Get Scholarship

Scholarships are tricky things. Everyone wants one. Few people get them. Apparently, there are millions out there that go unused on an annual basis. Because scholarships differ from loans in that they are free money, they are coveted beautiful things. They are also brilliant resume boosters and look fantastic on any resume.

Now, there are so many types of scholarships, it helps to be abreast of the types, time ranges, amounts, and places to find them. Some high schools give away scholarships prior to attending college. Some scholarships are merit based, others need based, others interest based, other cultural based. The list goes on.

The best way to begin seeking scholarships is to do your research. Every college and university will have a dowry with various scholarships. Usually they will be listed on the school’s website; however, you can always inquire as to their prevalence. When you learn about them, you can find out how much, many, and reasons behind them. Essentially, scholarships don’t usually just get handed to you (although some lucky people do find this fortuitous world). You must do your research.

Here are some types of scholarships.

Merit Scholarships – Scholarships typically revolve around this type of award. People who excel in academics are awarded a scholarship on the basis of their overall academic achievement. This may come in the form of top GPA, excellent SAT scores, and so on. These are highly competitive and may come in various forms.
Need-Based Scholarships – This type of scholarship is given purely on financial means. They are designed to fund the less-fortunate students in their academic pursuits. Scholarship committees look at various reasons for this hardship: Parents’ income, number of siblings in school simultaneously, expenses, cost of living, etc.
Athletic Scholarships – Scholarships are popularly given to star athletes by universities to recruit them for the athletic teams. Many athletes complete their education free of charge, but also pay the price of overworked team sports. Usually full-scholarship athletes are recruited by “scouts” while in high school. You don’t usually pursue this type of scholarship; it is given to you.
School-Based Individual Scholarships – Every school offers specific scholarships relevant to specifics from the university: donors, individual name scholarships, personal scholarships, and so on. Sometimes you have to apply directly to the scholarship, and other times, just by being accepted, you are placed in the bowl for possible scholarship awards.
Full/Partial Scholarship – Many people look at scholarships as a whole and think that they sometimes cover everything. If you are lucky enough to receive a full scholarship, then yes, they cover living, books, and tuition. However, many scholarships are partial, meaning they may cover simply living, simply books, or part of the tuition. If you are awarded any type of scholarship, take it and run! They are prized, wonderful gifts, and you should feel honored to receive one.

While several scholarships are school based, others are based on almost every other personal element that can exist. Several websites and books are designed purely for the existence of finding scholarships. Here are some websites and books that serve as search agents and listings of all the scholarships that exist. If you try hard enough, you are likely to find at least one or two that match your interests and qualifications. It takes much patience and time, but you are bound to find a scholarship for you.

Top 5 Ways to Pay for a College Degree

Need to pay for a college degree, but not sure how you’re going to do it?

Here’s a few ways to get the money you need to further your education:

1) Parents! I know this is kind of a “duh”, but I still thought it should be mentioned. Hopefully your parents can help you pay for some part of college, even if it’s just food money.

2) Student loans. This is how I personally had to pay for part of my college, but I don’t recommend you go overboard with them.

Even though student loans have low interest rates, it’s still debt that can eat a new graduate alive. Especially if you’ve taken out tens of thousands of dollars in loans like I know many students do.

3) Co-op or get paid internships. These can make you a good bit of money, but the problem is they usually set you back a year or two to finish your degree (unless you take tons of hours each semester).

I did a co-op for three semesters and besides the pay, the other thing I liked was getting to see corporate America a bit. Growing up you never really see it, and even in college you don’t really learn what it’s like unless you get to work in it.

The experience earned in internships and co-ops is a great experience too. So basically I recommend this as a good option- you make a lot of money and learn a lot, just be willing to wait a little longer to graduate.

4) Scholarships and grants. Probably the best, easiest way to pay for a college degree, this is usually free money! You will likely have to do some homework to find good ones you’re eligible for, but it can be well worth it.

Also a lot of schools will offer financial aid in case you live with a single parent or your parents don’t make very much money.

5) Get a job. Working full time can be done in college, but it’s tough. Some people do it, but it’s not the easiest way to go.

Here are some of the most popular jobs do try:

-Waiting tables

-Retail (clothes, home improvement, etc.)

-On campus jobs (office assistants)

-Landscaping

-Temp agency

-Tutoring

-Affiliate marketing or blogging online

Between all of those different methods, I definitely lean towards affiliate marketing the most. It’s very flexible (you work when you want), you work for yourself, and you’ll learn skills you can take with you for the rest of your life.

A lot of people start affiliate marketing just as a hobby, then later end up doing it full time! That’s because it lets them do what they want rather than what their boss or company wants.

There you have it- some of the best ways to pay for a college degree. Probably the best way to go is to apply for grants and scholarships first (even if your parents are paying), then try your hand at affiliate marketing on the side. Whatever you choose,  good luck!

Government Grants For Woman – Get Single Mother Grants ASAP

Not too long ago, the women of America were destined to work out of the household. Their job was to take care of the children while the man worked at a job. This has all changed in the last several decades. Women are moving into the workforce into positions of great authority and power. They are able to do this because they earn a significant income because of a college education that they received. If you’re a single mother and would like to move into the shoes of a more prominent position or career, here are a few ways that government grants for women can be used to your advantage.

The federal Pell Grant now offers over $5000 per semester for school. Applying for this grant is typically done after filling out your FAFSA. The Pell grant application can be filled out online but can also be done in the presence of financial support counselor at your college.

For instance, when you obtain an associate’s degree, it is typically done at a community college where the amount of credits that you obtain while going to a four year institution such as a state college or university, it is usually limited to about $10,000 for the completion of this degree.

This can tremendously reduce the cost burden for them. Insofar as that is the case should give you the urge to give it the needed consideration. What is also important to realize is the fact that this assistance demands some skills in order to be successful. If you are someone who is still grappling with where to find them, do not worry as this is to inform you of where exactly to go for student grants for single mothers you need.

So go on and fill out your FAFSA today. Select the college you want to go to. Set up a meeting with your financial support advisor and start the process of completing the Pell Grant paperwork today.
